    DESCRIPTION

Hemp has been pressed into hash for centuries. The process consolidates resin-rich plant material into a dense, cohesive form that brews cleanly and consistently in hot water. One of the oldest and most established hemp formats in existence and one of the most practical for a daily tea ritual. Break a piece, place it in an infuser, pour hot water over it and the profile releases steadily through the steep.

AK47 was developed by Serious Seeds through a four-way cross of Colombian, Mexican, Thai and Afghan landrace genetics. The four landrace parents each contribute something distinct to the finished profile. Colombian and Mexican sativa heritage provides the floral sweetness and aromatic lift that sits at the brighter end of the profile. Thai genetics contribute the spice-adjacent and complex aromatic depth in the mid-layer. Afghan genetics provide the earthy, resinous grounding that sits at the base of the profile and stops it being purely sativa-forward. Myrcene at 50.35% provides the dominant earthy, herbal and pungent base character. Alpha-Pinene at 12.26% adds the woody pine note. Beta-Caryophyllene at 11.26% provides the peppery depth and spice structure. In the cup the earthy, woody and skunk-adjacent character comes through first, the floral sweetness emerges in the mid-steep, and the resinous Afghan depth is at the base of the brew by the time it's fully developed.

All ingredients are independently lab tested. We calculate cannabinoid percentages from verified constituent lab reports. Certificate of Analysis available on this page.

How to brew: break a small piece and place in your infuser or tea bag. Pour water at around 80°C. Steep for 4 to 5 minutes. A splash of full-fat or oat milk helps the fat-soluble compounds integrate into the brew.

Sold for hot water infusion and herbal tea use only. Do not combust, vape or expose to high temperatures. Store sealed, away from heat and direct light. Keep out of reach of children. Not for use by persons under 18.

    Heat Exposure Risk Notice

If this tea extract is exposed to combustion or sufficiently high heat (well above brewing temperature), decarboxylation may occur, resulting in the chemical conversion of THCA into Δ9-THC.

Δ9-THC is classified as a controlled substance under UK law. Any alteration of the cannabinoid profile through heat exposure may therefore change the legal status of the material.

    Potential Side Effects of Δ9-THC:

In some individuals, Δ9-THC has been associated with adverse physiological or psychological responses. Reported adverse responses include disorientation, anxiety, altered perception, impaired coordination, nausea, increased heart rate, and temporary cognitive disturbance.

These risks do not apply to normal brewing at or below boiling point, and may arise only through combustion, vaporisation, or other misuse.

AK47 THCA Hash Tea | The Bud Works

AK47 has won more High Times Cannabis Cup awards than almost any other profile in the history of the competition. Developed by Serious Seeds in the early 1990s from a four-way cross of Colombian, Mexican, Thai and Afghan landrace genetics, it spent the following decade establishing itself as one of the most recognised and consistently respected profiles in European hemp culture. The name is deliberately provocative for a profile that's anything but aggressive in character - complex, layered and rewarding rather than loud or one-dimensional.

The four landrace parents each contribute a distinct layer to the finished profile. Colombian and Mexican sativa genetics provide the floral sweetness and aromatic lift at the brighter end. Thai genetics add the spice-adjacent and complex mid-layer depth that makes AK47 more interesting than a straightforward earthy profile. Afghan genetics ground the whole thing with the earthy, resinous base character that connects it to the deepest roots of hash tradition. Myrcene at 50.35% carries the dominant herbal and earthy base. Alpha-Pinene adds the woody pine note. Beta-Caryophyllene provides the peppery spice structure.

In pressed hash format the profile moves through its layers steadily and consistently across the steep. The earthy and woody character comes through first, the floral and spice notes develop in the mid-brew, and the Afghan resinous depth is fully present at the end. A complex and historically significant hemp tea that rewards patience and a full brew time.

THCA as a Naturally Occurring Hemp Compound

THCA is tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, a naturally occurring compound found in raw hemp. It belongs to the same family of plant compounds as CBDA found in hemp flower. Just as ginger contains compounds in its raw form that change when cooked, THCA exists in its natural acid form in unheated hemp. It's non-psychoactive in this state and is not a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. Brewing hemp as a tea at temperatures well below decarboxylation threshold keeps the compound in its natural form. The Bud Works sells all THCA products exclusively for hot water infusion. Combustion and vaping are not an intended or supported use.

All ingredients are independently lab tested and we calculate cannabinoid percentages from verified constituent lab reports. Delta-9 THC is below 0.2%, within UK legal limits. Sold for hot water infusion only.
