DESCRIPTION
Piatella is a hash format with roots in European artisan extraction. Traditionally produced through cold-separation, isolating trichome heads at low temperatures before hand-pressing the collected material into its characteristic soft, pliable form. Denser in trichome concentration than conventional pressed hash, darker in appearance and noticeably more resinous in texture. A format that takes considerably more time and care to produce than a standard block press. At 55% THCA it sits significantly above the pressed hash range - nearly double the concentration of most hash tea products. A small amount in the infuser is enough to get the full character of the profile.
Durban WiFi is a two-part terpene blend that works because the two profiles share a common thread while pulling apart at every other point.
The fruit component is a single varietal California extraction cultivated at sea level on clay loam soil in the San Joaquin Valley. Terpinolene and Ocimene dominant with Myrcene in support. The honest description of the aromatic character is that it smells like Starburst candy, Durban Poison and Chocolope all at once - we genuinely can't decide which one it's closest to. What we can say is that the raspberry and honeydew primary notes are vivid and immediate, the creamed honey sweetness sits underneath, and a crisp spearmint lift runs through the top of the profile. The Durban Poison and Chocolope influences give it a sativa-forward brightness and an almost electric quality that sets it apart from standard fruit profiles. It's the most immediately striking part of the blend in the cup.
WiFi OG - Fire OG crossed with The White - is where the depth comes from. d-Limonene dominant at 27.7%, with beta-Caryophyllene at 17.2% providing the peppery structural weight, Linalool at 5.2% adding a soft rounded quality underneath the gas, alpha-Pinene and alpha-Humulene contributing pine and earthy depth. Heavy gasoline and sweet banana custard at the primary level, a juicy fruit salad mid-layer and that same spearmint lift that also appears in the fruit profile - which is what ties the two together and makes the blend feel coherent rather than just two things happening at once. The gas character is bold and unmistakable from the start.
In the cup the raspberry and fruit sweetness comes through first. The gasoline and banana custard depth builds underneath as the brew steeps. The spearmint runs through both stages from first pour to finish.

How to brew: take a small piece, break it down and place in your infuser or tea bag. Pour water at around 80°C. Steep for 4 to 5 minutes. Worth trying without milk first - the fruit and gas contrast is most vivid in a straight brew. Adding milk softens the gasoline edge and brings the creamed honey and banana custard notes forward.

What Is Piatella Hash?
Piatella is a hash format with roots in European artisan extraction. Traditionally the process involves cold-separation - isolating trichome heads at low temperatures before hand-pressing the collected material into its characteristic soft, pliable and resinous form. The result is denser in trichome concentration than conventional pressed hash, more expressive in terpene character, and softer and more workable in texture. It's a time-intensive format with lower yield per batch than standard pressed hash which is why it stays small batch and availability is limited.
At 55% THCA, Durban WiFi sits considerably above the standard hash tea range. Most pressed hash teas in the range sit between 25% and 35%. This is well above that and it shows in how the profile develops in the cup.
THCA as a Naturally Occurring Hemp Compound
THCA is tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, a naturally occurring compound found in raw hemp. It belongs to the same family of plant compounds as CBDA found in hemp flower. Just as ginger contains compounds in its raw form that change when cooked, THCA exists in its natural acid form in unheated hemp. It's non-psychoactive in this state and is not a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. Brewing hemp as a tea at temperatures well below decarboxylation threshold keeps the compound in its natural form. The Bud Works sells all THCA products exclusively for hot water infusion.
