THCA HASH

NORTHERN LIGHTS THCA HASH TEA

NORTHERN LIGHTS THCA HASH TEA

Northern Lights is one of the most enduring profiles in hemp genetics. An indica-dominant lineage with roots in Afghan and Thai landrace genetics, it produces a sweet, spicy pine aromatic character with earthy undertones and a warm, resinous depth that's been a reference point for this kind of profile for decades. Myrcene dominant throughout with Beta-Caryophyllene and Limonene providing peppery and citrus secondary structure. A grounded, warm and deeply aromatic brew that sits at the earthier, more traditional end of the range. Pressed hash format. Brewed as a tea.

    DESCRIPTION

Hemp has been pressed into hash for centuries. The process consolidates resin-rich plant material into a dense, cohesive form that brews cleanly and consistently in hot water. One of the oldest and most established hemp formats in existence and one of the most practical for a daily tea ritual. Break a piece, place it in an infuser, pour hot water over it and the profile releases steadily through the steep.

Northern Lights draws from Afghan and Thai landrace genetics, two of the most historically significant hemp lineages in existence. The Afghan side provides the dominant earthy, resinous and warming base character that Northern Lights is known for. The Thai lineage contributes the sweet, spicy pine aromatic quality that sits at the primary level and gives the profile its distinctive warmth. Myrcene dominates at 31% and provides the earthy, herbal depth that runs through the base of the brew. Beta-Caryophyllene at 17.8% adds the peppery, spicy secondary character. Limonene at 10.6% provides a subtle citrus lift that stops the profile from being purely heavy and earthy. In the cup the sweet pine and spicy warmth comes through from the first pour and the deeper earthy and resinous notes develop as the brew steeps. It's a profile that rewards a full brew time and a slower pace.

All ingredients are independently lab tested. We calculate cannabinoid percentages from verified constituent lab reports. Certificate of Analysis available on this page.

How to brew: break a small piece and place in your infuser or tea bag. Pour water at around 80°C. Steep for 4 to 5 minutes. A splash of full-fat or oat milk helps the fat-soluble compounds integrate into the brew.

Sold for hot water infusion and herbal tea use only. Do not combust, vape or expose to high temperatures. Store sealed, away from heat and direct light. Keep out of reach of children. Not for use by persons under 18.

    Heat Exposure Risk Notice

If this tea extract is exposed to combustion or sufficiently high heat (well above brewing temperature), decarboxylation may occur, resulting in the chemical conversion of THCA into Δ9-THC.

Δ9-THC is classified as a controlled substance under UK law. Any alteration of the cannabinoid profile through heat exposure may therefore change the legal status of the material.

    Potential Side Effects of Δ9-THC:

In some individuals, Δ9-THC has been associated with adverse physiological or psychological responses. Reported adverse responses include disorientation, anxiety, altered perception, impaired coordination, nausea, increased heart rate, and temporary cognitive disturbance.

These risks do not apply to normal brewing at or below boiling point, and may arise only through combustion, vaporisation, or other misuse.

Northern Lights THCA Hash Tea | The Bud Works

Few profiles in hemp genetics carry the history that Northern Lights does. Developed in the Pacific Northwest in the late 1970s from Afghan and Thai landrace genetics, Northern Lights went on to win the High Times Cannabis Cup five times and became one of the defining profiles of the indica-dominant category globally. The aromatic character it produces, sweet spicy pine with warm earthy and resinous depth, has been a reference point for that kind of profile for nearly fifty years. It remains one of the most recognised and consistently well-regarded profiles in hemp cultivation anywhere in the world.

As a pressed hemp tea the Northern Lights profile translates particularly well. The sweet pine and spicy warmth comes through clearly from the first pour. Myrcene at 31% provides the earthy, herbal and warming base character that the profile is built around. Beta-Caryophyllene at 17.8% adds the peppery spice that gives it structure and keeps it interesting across the full steep. Limonene at 10.6% provides a subtle citrus lift that stops the profile settling into one place. The three work together in a way that produces a genuinely warm and aromatic hemp tea that's different in character from the modern dessert and fruit-forward profiles that make up much of the range.

Northern Lights in pressed hash format is the classic way to encounter this lineage. Dense and cohesive, it releases its terpene character steadily and consistently in hot water. The earthy, resinous depth that's characteristic of Afghan-origin genetics comes through properly over the course of the steep. It's a hemp tea for people who appreciate where the plant has come from as much as where it's going.

THCA as a Naturally Occurring Hemp Compound

THCA is tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, a naturally occurring compound found in raw hemp. It belongs to the same family of plant compounds as CBDA found in hemp flower. Just as ginger contains compounds in its raw form that change when cooked, THCA exists in its natural acid form in unheated hemp. It's non-psychoactive in this state and is not a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. Brewing hemp as a tea at temperatures well below decarboxylation threshold keeps the compound in its natural form. The Bud Works sells all THCA products exclusively for hot water infusion. Combustion and vaping are not an intended or supported use.

All ingredients are independently lab tested and we calculate cannabinoid percentages from verified constituent lab reports. Delta-9 THC is below 0.2%, within UK legal limits. Sold for hot water infusion only.
