DESCRIPTION
H4CBD (hexahydrocannabidiol) is produced by hydrogenating CBD. Four hydrogen atoms are added to the CBD molecule, converting the two carbon-carbon double bonds in the limonene portion of CBD into single bonds. The chemistry is similar to the hydrogenation process used to make margarine from vegetable oil, a relatively straightforward modification that produces a meaningfully different compound.
