DESCRIPTION
Piatella is a hash format with roots in European artisan extraction. Traditionally it's produced through cold-separation, isolating trichome heads at low temperatures before hand-pressing the collected material into its characteristic soft, pliable form. The result is denser in trichome concentration than conventional pressed hash, darker in appearance, and noticeably more resinous in texture. A format that takes considerably more time and care to produce than a standard block press, and that shows in the finished product.
Watermelon Zkittlez is a vivid profile and one of the more immediately recognisable in the range. The Watermelon parent leads with a clean, sweet and juicy primary character. Zkittlez adds tropical fruit and candy depth alongside grape-adjacent notes from its Grape Ape lineage. Limonene dominates across both parents. Myrcene brings earthy warmth underneath and Caryophyllene adds a light peppery structure that keeps the sweetness grounded rather than flat. As a hot water infusion the profile is fruit-forward from the first pour and develops more complexity as it steeps.

How to brew: take a small piece, break it down and place in your infuser or tea bag. Pour water at around 80°C. Steep for 4 to 5 minutes. Adding full-fat or oat milk helps the fat-soluble compounds integrate into the brew.

Piatella Hash Tea vs Standard Pressed Hash Tea
The difference comes down to how the material is traditionally collected and consolidated. Standard pressed hash brings together kief under mechanical pressure. Piatella starts earlier in the process, with cold-separation extraction that isolates the trichome heads first before any pressing happens. The result is a softer, more resinous material with a noticeably higher trichome concentration and a more expressive terpene character in the cup. It's also a slower process with lower yield per batch, which is why availability stays limited.
THCA as a Naturally Occurring Hemp Compound
THCA is tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, a naturally occurring compound found in raw hemp. It belongs to the same family of plant compounds as CBDA found in hemp flower. Just as ginger contains compounds in its raw form that change when cooked, THCA exists in its natural acid form in unheated hemp. It's non-psychoactive in this state and is not a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
