DESCRIPTION
Piatella is a hash format with roots in European artisan extraction. Traditionally produced through cold-separation, isolating trichome heads at low temperatures before hand-pressing the collected material into its characteristic soft, pliable form. Denser in trichome concentration than conventional pressed hash, darker in appearance and noticeably more resinous in texture. A format that takes considerably more time and care to produce than a standard block press and that shows in the finished product.
White Runtz is the terpene profile designation applied to this Piatella. The profile is associated with White Runtz genetics and sits in a vivid and complex aromatic space. Limonene dominates at the primary level, contributing bright citrus-adjacent and sharp top notes. Ocimene adds sweet herbal complexity and an aromatic lift that gives the profile movement and stops it being flat. Caryophyllene and Humulene provide the peppery and earthy depth at the base that grounds the profile and gives it structure. In the cup the citrus and sweet herbal character comes through clearly from the first pour and the peppery and earthy depth develops as the brew steeps. How to brew: take a small piece, break it down and place in your infuser or tea bag. Pour water at around 80°C. Steep for 4 to 5 minutes. Adding full-fat or oat milk helps the fat-soluble compounds integrate into the brew.
