DESCRIPTION
Hemp has been pressed into hash for centuries. The process consolidates resin-rich plant material into a dense, cohesive form that brews cleanly and consistently in hot water. One of the oldest and most established hemp formats in existence and one of the most practical for a daily tea ritual. Break a piece, place it in an infuser, pour hot water over it and the profile releases steadily through the steep.
RS-11, Rainbow Sherbert #11, was bred by Deo Farms of Oakland - the same team responsible for Zoap - from a cross of Pink Guava and Sunset Sherbert. Wizard Trees of LA selected RS-11 alongside RS-54 from the resulting phenotypes, and the strain went on to become one of the more sought-after modern hybrid profiles in the US market before making its way into the UK scene.
The terpene character is what sets RS-11 apart from most profiles in this range. Caryophyllene dominant, giving it the peppery, spiced primary character and structural weight that stops the profile being purely sweet. Limonene contributes the citrus brightness that sits alongside the fruit character and gives the profile its lift. Humulene adds the hoppy, earthy and slightly dry depth that’s less common in modern genetics and gives RS-11 a complexity that most sherbert-adjacent profiles don’t have. The combined aromatic character is gas and mango on the nose - vivid and immediately recognisable - with floral mango, apricot and sweet sherbert ice cream on the palate and a Kush note at the back that grounds it.
In the cup the gassy and mango-forward character comes through first. The sweet sherbert and floral depth develops as the brew steeps. How to brew: break a small piece and place in your infuser or tea bag. Pour water at around 80°C. Steep for 4 to 5 minutes. Worth trying without milk first - the mango and gas character is most vivid in a straight brew. Adding milk softens the gas edge and brings the sweet sherbert and floral notes forward.
